Privacy Policy – Numly

Last updated: October 2026

Numly is a calculator with a scientific mode, a percentage calculator and a unit converter for iPhone, iPad and Mac. In short: Numly has no server of its own, no user accounts, no ads and no analytics. The app works entirely offline. We, the developers, do not receive or see any of your data.

Controller

Donaz Entertainment by Robin Limprecht, contact: numlyapp@icloud.com or via the contact page.

What data does the app process?

  • Calculation history: The last 100 calculations are stored only on your device. You can remove them at any time with "Clear history". Deleting the app removes the history as well.
  • Settings: Accent color, appearance, language and mode (standard or scientific) are stored locally on your device.
  • Clipboard: Copying and pasting numbers happens only when you trigger it (press and hold, context menu or ⌘C / ⌘V). Numly does not read the clipboard in the background and does not pass its contents on.
  • Device search (Spotlight): So that you can find Numly with your device's search (for example with "calculator"), the app adds an entry with its name and search terms to the system's Spotlight index. It contains no personal data and stays on your device.
  • Rating prompt: After regular use the app may show Apple's rating dialog. Whether and when Apple shows it is decided by the system. Numly receives no information about your rating.

The data is used only to display and run the app on your device. It is not sold, not used for advertising and not transmitted to us. Numly uses no iCloud sync. Your history exists only on the device where you calculate.

In-app purchases (tips)

Numly offers optional tips through Apple's StoreKit framework. Payments are handled exclusively by Apple. We have no access to your payment details and only see the anonymous sales figures Apple provides.

No sharing, no advertising

Numly contains no advertising, no trackers and no analytics services and integrates no third parties. There is no registration.

Deleting and withdrawing

  • You delete the history in the app with "Clear history".
  • If you delete the app, its local data (history and settings) is removed.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability, as well as the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Because we store none of your data, you exercise these rights directly through your device. If you have questions, write to us.

Children

Numly is suitable for all ages. Because no data is collected, there are no particular risks for minors.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published on this page.

Help & Contact – Numly

Questions, found a bug or have an idea? Write to numlyapp@icloud.com or use the contact page.

Frequently asked questions

  • How do I turn on scientific mode? Rotate the iPhone to landscape. In portrait use the Std. / Sci. button at the top. There you write the whole formula with parentheses; "=" calculates it.
  • How do I open the percentage calculator or the unit converter? Tap the grid icon in the top left. Both are also in Settings under "Tools".
  • How do I change the color or the language? Open Settings (···). There you choose accent color, appearance and language.
  • How do I copy a result or paste a number? Press and hold the display (Mac: right-click or ⌘C / ⌘V). Tapping a history entry puts its result into the display.
  • Is there a Mac version? Yes. Numly is a universal purchase. If you own it on iPhone or iPad, you can install it on your Mac at no extra cost.
  • Can I undo a tip? You can review purchases in your device settings under Apple Account → Purchases. For refunds, please contact Apple.
